Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Scriptfox (“the Service”), operated by JJB Ventures, LLC (“Scriptfox,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. The Service

Scriptfox is a voice-tracking teleprompter web application for content creators. We provide tools to write, organize, and read scripts; voice tracking that follows your reading pace; hands-free controls; and (on paid plans) integrations with YouTube and other productivity features.

2. Account Registration

You must create an account to use most of the Service. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and notify us promptly of any unauthorized access. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are between 13 and 18 (or your local age of majority), you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or guardian.

3. Subscription Plans

Scriptfox offers a free plan and paid plans (Pro and Studio). Detailed plan features and pricing are listed at getscriptfox.com. Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis and automatically renew at the end of each billing period until cancelled.

3.1 Free Plan

The free plan includes a usage limit on voice-tracking minutes per calendar month, capped at the amount stated on our pricing page. Free plan limits may change with reasonable notice.

3.2 Paid Plans, Billing, and Taxes

Paid subscriptions are processed through Stripe. You authorize us (via Stripe) to charge your selected payment method on each renewal date. Prices are stated in U.S. dollars and exclusive of any applicable taxes, which may be added to your invoice based on your billing location.

3.3 Cancellation

You can cancel your paid subscription at any time from the Stripe Customer Portal accessible in your Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you retain access to paid features until that date, after which your account reverts to the free plan.

3.4 Refunds (30-Day Money-Back Guarantee)

If you are not satisfied with a paid plan, contact support@getscriptfox.com within 30 days of your initial subscription or renewal and we will issue a full refund of that billing period. The 30-day window applies independently to each billing period; for annual plans, you can request a refund within 30 days of each annual renewal. Refunds are issued to the original payment method.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service to violate any law or regulation;
• Upload, write, or distribute content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, harassing, or that infringes anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights;
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or the Service's infrastructure;
• Reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or attempt to extract source code from the Service except as expressly permitted by law;
• Use the Service to develop a competing product or to train AI models on our outputs;
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service, or share your account with multiple individuals (each person should have their own account; the Studio plan provides additional seats);
• Interfere with the Service's operation, transmit malware, or launch denial-of-service attacks;
• Use the Service to spam, phish, or send unsolicited communications.

We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of this section, with or without prior notice depending on severity.

5. Your Content

You own the scripts, recordings, and other content you create or upload to Scriptfox (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display Your Content as necessary to provide the Service to you. This license ends when you delete Your Content or close your account.

We do not use Your Content to train third-party AI models. If you opt in to Tier 2 audio capture (see Privacy Policy), we use those recordings only to debug and improve our voice-tracking accuracy and they auto-delete after 60 days.

6. Our Intellectual Property

The Scriptfox software, design, branding, and underlying technology are owned by JJB Ventures, LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use the Scriptfox name, logos, or trademarks beyond using the Service itself.

7. Third-Party Integrations

Scriptfox integrates with third-party services (YouTube, Stripe, Clerk, Deepgram, OpenAI, etc. — see our Privacy Policyfor the full list). Your use of those integrations is also governed by the respective providers' terms. We are not responsible for the availability, performance, or policies of third-party services.

8. Affiliate Program and Referrals

Scriptfox offers an Affiliate Partner program (administered via Promotekit) and an in-app Refer-a-Friend referral system. The following apply:

• Affiliate Partnersearn commission on referred paid subscriptions per the program's posted terms. Approval is at our discretion. Commissions are paid via PayPal subject to a $50 minimum payout. Commission is reversed (“clawback”) if a referred customer receives a refund within 30 days of payment.
• Refer-a-Friend credits earned by referring new paid customers may be applied to your future Scriptfox subscription invoices. Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, expire if your account is closed, and may not be combined with other discounts beyond program rules. We reserve the right to revoke credits earned via fraud or abuse.
• Self-referral is not permitted; we may invalidate credits or commissions earned by referring oneself.

9. Service Availability

We work to keep Scriptfox available 24/7, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend or restrict the Service for maintenance, security incidents, or other operational reasons. We do not offer a formal service-level agreement (SLA) for the free plan; paid plans may have separate uptime commitments documented elsewhere as they are introduced.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JJB VENTURES, LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless JJB Ventures, LLC from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law, or from Your Content.

13. Termination

You may close your account at any time from your Settings page or by emailing support@getscriptfox.com. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms, fail to pay fees, or if continued provision of the Service to you would expose us to legal liability.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Governing Law) will survive.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State in which JJB Ventures, LLC is organized, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the state and federal courts located in that state, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and notify active users by email or in-app banner. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service.

16. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and JJB Ventures, LLC regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right.

You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
