What voice data does ScriptFox keep, and how do I turn it off or delete it?
Settings → "Voice-data capture" has three switches:
- "Learn from my sessions" (on by default): keeps the text of what you read and what was heard (never audio) under your account for 180 days, to learn your pronunciations and to improve tracking for everyone who reads in your language. Patterns many readers share are learned from many accounts together and never name you. It also saves the read that powers per-script retention analytics.
- "Share session audio to improve Scriptfox" (off by default): stores session audio for up to 60 days, then deletes it automatically.
- "Share my voice to improve voice recognition" (setup asks on its last page, where the switch starts on in the United States and off everywhere else; off for accounts that never finished setup or set up before October 3, 2026): contributes recordings plus the script text to improve voice models, shared with ScriptFox and affiliate partners, never with your name or contact details.
To erase it all: Settings → "Your voice data" → "Delete voice data". That removes learned voice patterns, the text of your reads kept to learn from, stored session audio, and any contributed clips (and turns that switch off). Your saved takes and scripts are not affected. Live transcription runs through Deepgram; the "Hey Fox" wake word runs on your device.
