Voice tracking lost me or says "Listening for you"

"Listening for you" means the prompter hasn't matched your words for a couple of seconds (you're ad-libbing or off the text). It holds its place; keep reading and it re-syncs on the next confident match.

To catch it up right away:

  1. 1Click any word in the prompter. The cursor jumps there and tracking continues.
  2. 2Say "Hey Fox, restart this section", "next section", "go back one sentence", or "go to [marker name]".
  3. 3Don't sprint more than about 30 words past the highlighted word.

If it keeps losing you: run "Voice setup" (calibration) in Settings → "Voice & vocabulary", add names and jargon to "Custom vocabulary", raise "Voice tracking strength" in the prompter settings if you read faster than your WPM, and keep a steady pace. In a pinch, press V to switch to Pace mode.

Still stuck?

Two ways to a person. Both are read by Tyler, who built ScriptFox.

Fox is the chat bubble at the bottom right of every page once you are signed in. It answers from these same pages and hands you to a person when it can't.
