The desktop app won't update, or the version never changes

Windows app
  1. 1Quit normally (tray icon → "Quit ScriptFox", or close the window). Ending it from Task Manager skips the install-on-quit step.
  2. 2Tray icon → "Check for updates…" (the menu item shows your version). "You're on the latest version" means nothing newer has been published yet.
  3. 3If it was installed into Program Files (a per-machine install that asked for admin rights), the updater can't replace it: uninstall, then reinstall to the default location.
  4. 4Last resort: tray icon → "Download latest from website…" and run the installer over the top.
