How to get retention analytics and AI insights on a video

The script's Analytics view overlays YouTube's retention curve on your script sections so you can see where viewers left and why. Open it from "View analytics" in the editor header (shown once a video is linked) or from the "Analytics" page's "Top videos" table.

It needs three things:

  1. 1The published video linked to the script (three-dot menu → "Link YouTube video…").
  2. 2A map of when you said each word: either one straight read of the script in the prompter's Voice mode (with Settings → "Learn from my sessions" on), or your published video's transcript uploaded on the Analytics view (the most accurate option). Pace-mode reads don't count.
  3. 3YouTube's retention data, which appears 24–48 hours after publishing.

The chart, sections, and drop-off numbers are available on every plan. The "AI retention insights" panel (timestamped observations and suggestions for your next video) is Pro and Team: 100 runs a month on Pro, 300 on Team.

Two ways to a person. Both are read by Tyler, who built ScriptFox.

Fox is the chat bubble at the bottom right of every page once you are signed in. It answers from these same pages and hands you to a person when it can't.
